Syria in flames: the UN is failing the country in humanitarian aid

The UN Security Council has not adopted the Russia-proposed draft resolution on delivering humanitarian aid to Syria through one checkpoint on the border with Turkey. On 7 July, Russia and China vetoed the draft resolution, Germany and Belgium, which contained a proposal to keep the UN at two checkpoints. The activity of the current resolution expires on July 10. Now the Security Council has remained the day to agree terms of extension of the delivery of humanitarian aid to Syria.
