The State Duma insists on checking data on the creation of nuclear weapons of the DPRK

The disturbing information that has emerged about the alleged continuation of nuclear weapons work in the DPRK requires thorough, impartial verification and strong evidence. According to the correspondent of the news agency on August 4, this was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak (United Russia). Political forces opposed to Pyongyang should not be allowed to put pressure on the international community to disrupt the peace process that has begun, Zheleznyak said. The emerging progress in the dialogue was interrupted due to the persistence of deep contradictions between the DPRK and the United States, the inconsistent policy of Washington, as well as the pressure of destructive forces in the US military-industrial lobby interested in maintaining a hotbed of tension on the Korean Peninsula, negatively affect the course of the negotiation process, he said. North Korea continues to develop nuclear weapons, and some countries believe that it could already develop miniature nuclear devices, Reuters reports citing a confidential UN report. As noted in the report, one of the countries believes that North Korea may strive to further develop miniaturization of technologies in order to develop several new warhead systems.
