Polish PGNiG will return to Gazprom $90 million of $1.5 billion paid in court
The Polish state-owned oil and gas company PGNiG will return to Gazprom $90 million of the $1.5 billion that the Russian company paid to the Polish operator by decision of the Stockholm arbitration. This was stated by the head of the PGNiG Jerzy Kvechinsky, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti. According to Kweczynski, the Polish side therefore received more than expected by the court decision and due to the fact that in some months since 2014 there was an underpayment, therefore, $90 million will be compensation. He also indicated that this amount will be transferred to the Russian company in the coming days. It should be noted, as reported by the news agency, on June 30 it became known that Gazprom Export LLC transferred to the Polish company PGNiG money that was due to be returned to it in connection with the decision of the Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal regarding the revision of the price from 2014 under the contract for the sale of gas to Poland.
