Norwegian authorities will open the border to Swedish citizens, but not to everyone

The Norwegian government will open the border for communication with several European countries. The decision to remove restrictions on international communication will enter into force on July 15. Relief at the border will be implemented for Swedish citizens. However, not all Swedes will be able to visit the country, but only residents of certain regions of the country. This was announced on July 10 by the news agency SVT Nyheter. Recall that Norway closed its borders on March 16. The ultimate goal of the decision of the authorities was to minimize the spread of coronavirus in the country. On June 15, Norwegian authorities opened their borders to other Nordic countries. Swedish citizens also touched on the relaxation of the access regime at the border. However, then only Swedes living on the island of Gotland could visit the western neighbor. On July 10, Norwegian authorities announced the next lifting of restrictions on communication with countries such as France, Spain, Italy, Greece and Germany. A new stage in the restoration of international communication also affected Sweden. The Norwegian government has expanded the list of Swedish regions whose residents can cross the border. We are talking about such southern regions as Blekinge, Krunuberg and Skåne. At the same time, for residents of most of Sweden, all restrictions on entry into Norway remain.
