NASA deputy head could not guarantee landing on the moon in 2024

Katie Leaders, deputy head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for manned programs, said she could not guarantee the possibility of landing American astronauts on the moon in 2024. It is reported by SpaceNews. NASA Chief Executive Jim Brydenstein appointed Katie Leaders as his deputy for manned programs on June 12. Shortly after her appointment, Leaders took part in a teleconference, where she answered several questions from journalists. One of the journalists asked to assess the reality of the implementation of the Artemis program, which provides for the landing of American astronauts on the moon in 2024. Leaders did not give an unequivocal answer, noting that she could not look into the future. We are going to try, stressed the deputy head of NASA. As previously reported by the news agency, in May, the Politico newspaper published excerpts from a letter to colleagues of the former deputy head of NASA for manned programs, Douglas Loverro, in which he admitted to making mistakes in this post.
