In China, the leader of a gang of drug killers was sentenced to death


Seventeen defendants received sentences ranging from the death penalty to imprisonment for mafia crimes in the central Chinese province of Hunan, Xinhua News Agency reported on June 29. The Loudi Intermediate People's Court found Zeng Dehong guilty of dozens of crimes, including the creation of organized mafia structures, the sale and transportation of drugs, and intentional killings, as well as rape. He was sentenced to death and deprived of all his political rights for the rest of his life with the confiscation of private property. The court found that Zeng recruited drug addicts into his gang in order to obtain illegal material benefits from committing crimes such as drug smuggling and creating a casino since 2017. In addition to selling more than 30 kg of drugs, the gang also carried out illegal detentions of people, engaged in fights and intentional killings. The other 16 members of his gang received various sentences: from the death penalty and the death penalty with a delay, life sentences to imprisonment from 12 to 25 years.
