Drug traffickers from Kazakhstan convicted in Chelyabinsk region
In the Chelyabinsk region, two citizens of Kazakhstan were convicted of attempting to smuggle almost four kilograms of narcotic substances and for attempting to sell them. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office. The verdict was passed by the Chelyabinsk Regional Court. It was found that these citizens acted on the instructions of an accomplice unidentified by the investigation. According to investigators, they came to Russia from the city of Nur-Sultan and on June 28, 2019 they took drugs from a cache in Ufa and were going to take them to Kazakhstan for sale by train. But during border control at the Troitsk station at the border checkpoint, couriers were detained. The substance was also found and seized. In court, the defendants pleaded guilty and stated that they repent of their deeds. According to them, they went to the crime because of the difficult financial situation. The court appointed each of them 12 years in a maximum security colony.
