Seismologists recorded a 5.9 magnitude earthquake in western Canada. This is reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) on May 16. It is noted that specialists of the department earthquake was registered at 13:37 UTC (16.37 Moscow time). The epicentre of the quake was located 29 kilometres south-west of the village of Grand Cash in Alberta. The hearth was at a depth of 9.1 kilometers. No information was received on possible destruction or casualties. The threat of a tsunami was not announced either. Recall, according to the news agency, earlier earthquake of magnitude 5.9 was recorded off the coast of Vanuatu.
