Scientists have developed a COVID-19 test for home use
Scientists from Yale University have developed a test system for the diagnosis of a new coronavirus infection, which can be used at home without the involvement of medical professionals. The report on the study is published on the portal of medRxiv preprints. It is noted that at present the coronavirus test is in great demand, which would allow mass diagnosis of the population. The standard nasopharynx smear test requires the involvement of medical personnel and sometimes gives false results. Researchers from Yale University tested on a group of 165 people the use of a test in which saliva was used as a biological sample. It turned out that the use of saliva makes the test even more sensitive, and throughout the disease. Scientists claim that the coronavirus test can be carried out on its own without putting a medical worker at risk of infection, as is the case when taking a nasopharynx swab. Recall, the news agency reported that the U.S. authorities issued permission to use 63 different test systems to detect coronavirus SARS- CoV -2.
